I put this in my food garbage bin and the smells are definitely less noticeable! I love how I can just stick the filter to the under side of the lid and let it do its thing. I have not tried to recharge it in the sun yet, but I am interested to try it.

This product is really effective in absorbing odors. The only problem is the cardboard sleeve that holds the filter. It tends to sag and if your trash can gets full it gets stained or catches on things. This makes it unattractive and you have to replace the filter way before you should actually have to. I've never been able to use one for it's full recommended time because of this. I guesss maybe my trash can it too small :) Anyway, they are pretty cheap so I don't mind replacing them.
