They should not have mounting holes in the back. It's a definite drawback to placing it on an end of a kitchen island.

I looked for months for a bread box that had clean lines. didn't take up alot of counter space but still made our kitchen look cleaner. This product did all that and more. We can fit a large loaf of bread, rolls AND muffins all at the same time and everything stays fresh. There's also room on top for a canister set.

I would recommend this product to anyone!

I have looked for a bread bin that holds more than a loaf of bread, for two years! This is perfect and has a flat top to hold canisters, too. Looks good, works great.

Fits perfectly on the counter top. Small lazy susan on the flat top does not interfere with the opening and closing of the door. Fits 2 full loaves, a few packages of cookies (small ones) and a bag of mini rice cakes. Does what it should! Bread stays fresh and the top of my fridge is now UNCLUTTERED!!! Hurray!

I love this breadbox - most take up valuable counter space with the rounded/roll-top. With the flat top we have stored 2 coffee canisters, trivets, a double kitchen timer and salt and pepper shakers - all at once! Without looking cluttered!! This is a huge bread box, so at any one time, we may have a bag of rolls, a baguette and some other assorted types of bread inside, without it seeming crowded, or mushing the bread. I can even put my toddler's half-eaten rolls back in, without plastic, and they stay fresh all day. I'm actually buying another one for a house-warming gift today!

Floppy door--but nice bin
By The Kitchen GoddessVerified Purchaser from Morrisville, NC on 3/17/2008
Pros:
It does hold bread.
Cons:
Door is floppy.
Best Uses:
To hold bread and stuff.

The manufacturer would benefit by adding another magnet or catch to hold the door straight across the bin.

Right now the bin is holding a loaf of bread, a package of soft rolls and a small box of cereal.

I have just moved into a small apartment and the bread box fits just perfectly on top of my refrigerator. It's hard to believe that it can hold so much and yet look so compact. No more stale bread! Thanks
