I would have given five stars, but I had to follow-up to replace an incorrectly-sized part they sent with the grill.
This is a great grill for the aspiring outdoor chef. You can certainly get bigger grills for the money, but the quality is top-notch.
I'd recommend it to anyone cooking burgers for up to 10 or so people or roasts for a lot more.
The IR zone is very useful, and the rotisserie burner in back gives you great flexibility for indirect heat. Would be nice if it had a more convenient way to use a smoker box--if you need to refill chips, you need to remove a grate.
Excellent, excellent product. I'll buy Napoleon for a long time.
short grill time, large grill area but have to be prepared to grill because of short grill time. Get your timing down!!!!!

The high temp searing function is a great compliment to grilling. The stainless steel grates are easy to clean. Watch the runoff container under the grill. The first time I used it with a marinaded meat the marinade (which contained lemon juice and soy sauce) ate through the thin aluminum container and made a considerable mess in the cabinet.

Bought this grill as a replacement for my 25 year old Ducane Gas Grill. While the assembly was somewhat involved, to me it was a plus since the compactness of the unassembled item allowed me to get it up the the thrid floor apartment balcony. It assembled it myself, but I don't recommend that. You need a second person to lift, position and hold the head on the cart while someone screws the top into the cart. One slip and you could have the unit crush you in a heartbeat. So don't try this alone.Searing area works fast and wonderful. Don't keep anything there too long or you get charcoal, not meat. After you sear, you move over to the standard cooking area. If you want to utilize the entire area, you had better crank down the gas over the searing area and keep a vigil eye.So far used only in winter, but it still generates enough heat to cood great meals. The rotissary does kick off a lot of heat out the back, so you have to keep the unit away from any walls. I would have liked to see some way of either insulating or retaining that heat with some casted metal, but that's just me. There is ample space between the flame and anything that you place on the spit. I've seen competitive units that could only accommodate a tiny chicken. It has a wide back burner and spit to accommodate at least 3 nice size chickens.Conventional grill area is fairly even with higher heat concentrated in the back. To me that is expected since the hood tend to retain some more heat back there. Electronic ignition works great. Ceramic searing block takes a few extra second before the gas reaches the spark but it does light. I highly recommend using an optional grate lifter. It would be nice to come with one standard. In some respects, the cooking took longer than my old Ducane, but the results were much better. I guess I just rushed things in the past, or the fact that the old unit was burned through could contribute to this phenomena. I think things will speed up a bit in above freezing weather in the Spring,Summer and Fall.I didn't opt to purchase the optional charcoal insert, just yet. So far, I don't think I need it as the results are just fine.I didn't give this a perfect score since I can't comment on longevity, but from what I observe now, it may as well be.
